SO HERE ARE SOME WEIRD PHOBIAS THAT I RESEARCHED ABOUT AND FIND OUT THAT 1% OF PEOPLE HAVE THESE TYPES OF PHOBIAS ACTUALLY WE CAN SAY THAT THEY ARE NOT PHOBIAS ITS THEIR THOUGHTS AND FEAR AND IF SOMEONE HAVE THESE KIND OF PHOBIAS I THINK ITS EASY TO GET RID OF THEM……….

1.CHAETOPHOBIA

Chaetophobia(fear of hairs)

Chaetophobia is a rare phobia which causes an irrational, abnormal and persistent fear of hair. The word is derived from Greek khaite which means ‘loose flowing hair’ and phobos meaning aversion or fear. Other names used for the phobia include Trichopathophobia where tricho is Greek for hair and patho for disease. Thus Trichopathophobia means extreme “fear of hair disease” which causes a person to be afraid of going bald or developing scalp or hair issues.

As with most phobias this fear could be the result of a negative experience with hair and/or a hairy person. The anxiety starts when the person remembers an experience whenever they are near a person with an excess amount of hair. Hair loss can be a trigger to this phobia, such as men going bald.

2.ERGOPHOBIA

Ergophobia(An abnormal & persistent fear of work)

Ergophobia is a specific phobia. It is characterized by an irrational and excessive fear of work. People with ergophobia experience high levels of anxiety when they have to go to work. Their fear is such that they have to leave early. In severe cases, it prevents them from going to their workplace at all.

Sufferers of ergophobia experience undue anxiety about the workplace environment even though they realize their fear is irrational. Their fear may actually be a combination of fears, such fear of failing at assigned tasks, fear of speaking before groups at work, or fear of socializing.

HOW TO OVERCOME ERGOPHOBIA

  1. Acknowledge the change
  2. Acknowledge your fears
  3. Accept your feelings and seek support
  4. DESIGNAT ‘worry time’. Worrying interferes productivity, mood and morale……so don’t let it spill over into every crevice of your work day
  5. Communicate

3.VESTIPHOBIA

Vestiphobia( an extreme fear of clothing)

We’ve all had those “scary” fashion moments (the whole of the 80s comes to mind) — as fun as they were. But imagine if you will, facing your morning wardrobe with absolute dread and fear. Every Monday morning, you say? I am not talking here of a wardrobe packed full of “nothing to wear” or your next “fashion faux-pas” waiting to happen. Nor am I referring to closeted Nudists — you know who you are! And most likely so do your neighbors. I am talking about the ‘VESTIPHOBE’, that small pool of people who suffer a crippling fear of clothing known as ‘VESTIPHOBIA’.

Vestiphobia (from Latin Vestis, meaning clothing, garment or covering) is the fear of clothing. The fear can lead to claustrophobia, fear of no escape, especially when wearing tight clothing. People who have Vestiophobia have an irrational fear of clothing or of being clothed. This fear is so intense and overwhelming that sufferers will sometimes wear loose, oversized clothing in an effort to keep it off their skin. It can also be triggered by the fear of nudity. People who are allergic to fabric in clothing can also lead to fear.

According to PHOBIA SOURCE .com, sufferers may experience all the hallmarks of a full blown panic attack, including “palpitations, tremors and shortness of breath”. Behavioral therapy and medication may help with the severity of the anxiety, but when that doesn’t work the result can be a devastating form of social exile .A sufferer or a ‘VESTIPHOBE’ as they are colloquially known, can stem from a form of claustrophobia.

They see clothes literally as life-threatening. These can be caused from traumas or events and triggered in later life. Consider what it would be like to fall off a boat fully clothed, the weight of your clothing pulling you down literally denying you breath.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: In my opinion VESTIPHOBIA is nothing its like if you see any cloth in an inappropriate position, so you’ll see different scary things from those cloths but if you refresh your mind and say yourself that its just cloths. So you’ll notice that you’re becoming normal and you’ll be calmed.

4.EISOPTROPHOBIA

Eisoptrophobia(fear of mirrors)

EisoPtrophobia is an abnormal and persistent fear of mirrors. Sufferers experience undue anxiety even though they realize their fear is irrational. Some people experience extreme distress or shame when they catch their reflection in a mirror. This condition is Eisoptrophobia . The root of the word is eisoptro, which is Greek for mirror, and phobia, which is Greek for fear. It translates to fear of mirrors or seeing yourself in a mirror or other reflective surface.

Eisoptrophobia symptoms are both physical and psychological. Physical phobia symptoms are real. They are the result of physiologic changes in response to fear or danger. Adrenaline is a main part of this response. It’s the hormone at the heart of fight-or-flight response. Common physical Eisoptrophobia symptoms include:

  1. Feeling short of breath (chest tightness)
  2. Feeling lightheaded or faint (Dizziness)
  3. Nausea
  4. Sweating or calmminess
  5. Trembling or shaky

Common psychological Eisoptrophobia symptoms include:

  • Avoidance of mirrors and other reflective surfaces
  • Dread or worry about having to look in a mirror
  • Guilt or shame about the fear of mirrors
  • Intense distress, panic, or desire to flee when looking in a mirror or other reflective surfaces
  • Recognition that fear of mirrors is irrational

5.SPECTROPHOBIA

Spectrophobia(fear of ghosts and mirrors)

An abnormal and persistent fear of ghosts individual who has experienced a traumatic event involving a mirror may develop spectrophobia. For example, a child who was frightened by someone in the mirror one or multiple times may eventually develop spectrophobia.

Sufferers of Spectrophobia experience undue anxiety even though they realize their fear is irrational. They may fear going into woods, empty houses or dark places and may react with alarm at strange or unexplained noises.
